How to mix vocals in Logic Pro is a stock-plugin job: clean the take with Flex Pitch, shape it with Channel EQ, hold it with Compressor, then place it with Space Designer. You do not need Waves to finish a bedroom record. You need a quiet file, a sensible order, and a chain you can recall.
Most artists start in FL Studio. If you record in Logic Pro, you already have better stock tools than most people use. This post is the mix. It is not another install walkthrough. If the pack is already on your Mac, load the channel strip and skip ahead. The install steps live here:

Logic gives you a full mixer, Channel Strip Settings, and a plugin list that looks like a studio catalog. That is the trap. Artists open twelve inserts, then wonder why the vocal got smaller.
Do one pass in this order:
The umbrella version of this path is
. What follows is Logic-specific.
Create a mono audio track for the lead. Name it. Color it. Put doubles and ad-libs on their own tracks so you can process them differently. Print a dry playlist or a dry copy. If you only keep a wet bounce, you cannot change your mind tomorrow.
Watch input. Peaks around -12 to -6 dBFS on the way in give Channel EQ and Compressor room to work. If the region is already clipping, Logic is mixing distortion, not a vocal.
Gain staging is not a personality test. It is why two identical plugins sound fine on a reference and broken on your session.
Flex Pitch is Logic's surgical tuner. Enable Flex on the track, pick Flex Pitch, then drag notes that are actually wrong. Leave the scoops. Leave the grit if the song needs it.
Use the Pitch Correction plugin when you want a live, tracked-in effect. Use Flex Pitch when you want the take to stay human. Melodic rap can use both: Flex Pitch for the ugly misses, a slower Pitch Correction for the gloss.
Do not put a long reverb before you tune. You will smear the mistakes. Tune, then send to Space Designer.
If you want the general Auto-Tune language (key, speed, humanize), read
and apply it to Logic's tools. The knobs have different names. The decisions are the same.
Open Channel EQ on the lead.
Analyzer mode is a flashlight, not a recipe. Mix with your ears against the beat, not a pretty curve.
is the longer "why" if the vocal still sounds amateur after two cuts.
Logic's Compressor is enough. The circuit models change the feel:
Start around 3:1. Medium attack so the word still hits. Medium-fast release so the compressor gets out of the way. Gain reduction of 3-6 dB on loud lines is a healthy target. Makeup gain should match the bypassed level, then you decide if you want it closer.
If the vocal pumps with the 808, the release is too slow or the threshold is too hungry.
translates those knobs into artist language.
A second, gentler compressor after EQ is fine. Three compressors fighting each other is how bedroom mixes get small.
Logic's DeEsser 2 belongs after the air boost. Sweep the frequency until the S is the problem, then use the least amount that works.
A Noise Gate or Expander can kill headphone bleed and room hiss between phrases. Set it so tails of words do not chop. Soft R&B is unforgiving here. If the gate chatters, you recorded a loud room, not a bad plugin.
Put time-based effects on an aux, not only as inserts. Space Designer on a bus lets every vocal share one room. Insert reverb on the lead makes it harder to keep the center dry.
For most records:
ChromaVerb is prettier for pads and ambient R&B. Space Designer is easier to keep short and expensive. If the vocal leaves the speakers, the send is too loud.
is the sit-down test.
Keep the lead centered. Width lives in the doubles and the tails.
covers that split.
Once you understand the order, stop rebuilding it. A reviewed preset is a starting mix, not a magic identity.
Late-night R&B and soft rap. Crisp EQ, audible tune, lush space. Good when Logic's stock chain feels too polite and you want Toronto-adjacent gloss.

After the preset is on the strip, do three things only: set the song key on the tuner, ride the Space Designer send, and check S sounds. Then record.
Solo is for finding a honk. The mix is the song. If the vocal is perfect in solo and lost in the 808, you mixed a demo. Duck competing midrange on the beat, or high-pass the guitar, before you keep boosting 3 kHz on the singer.
Automation is part of how to mix vocals in Logic Pro. Ride the lead into the hook. Dip ad-libs when they step on a lyric. Logic's volume automation is faster than adding another compressor you will forget to bypass.
Print a reference. A finished R&B or rap record in the same key tells you if you are too dark, too loud, or too wet. Do not chase the celebrity. Chase whether a stranger can hear the words.
Channel EQ, Compressor, DeEsser 2, Pitch Correction, and Space Designer will release a song. The artists who still sound amateur in Logic usually have a noisy take, a clipped region, or six reverbs.

When the mix is close, bounce a dry lead and a wet lead. If you hate the Space Designer tomorrow, you still have the take. How to mix vocals in Logic Pro is faster when you are not protecting a single bounced file.
Keep the beat on its own bus. Do not print the vocal through the instrumental. If you send the song to someone else, they need the dry vocal more than they need your Channel EQ curve.
No. Logic's stock Channel EQ, Compressor, DeEsser 2, and Space Designer are enough for a release. Third-party plugins are taste, not a requirement. Buy them later if you already like your stock chain and want a different color.
Flex Pitch is for fixing specific notes after the take. Pitch Correction is for a live, even tune while you sing or as an effect. Many artists use both: Flex Pitch for the misses, a slow Pitch Correction for the sheen.
Usually a high-pass that ate the chest, too much air, or a reverb that washed out the center. Bypass the high shelf. Shorten Space Designer. Add a little body around 150-250 Hz only if the beat still has room.
No. A preset is a saved mix decision. You still choose the take, the key, and the send levels. Studio Polish or Sippin' just stops you from rebuilding seven inserts every night.
Load Sippin' or Studio Polish, set Flex Pitch aside for the ugly notes, and record the hook before you add another plugin.
